St Matthew's CofE Primary School

Our vision is to enable our whole school community to live life in all its fullness.
based on John 10:10

Daily Collective Worship

The daily act of Collective Worship is a legal requirement in all schools.

In church schools this is Christian worship and reflects the traditions of the Church of England.

At St. Matthew’s, we value our special time in daily whole school collective worship which provides us with the opportunity to come together as our church school family to reflect, give praise, share Christian values, celebrate special times throughout the year and foster respect and a sense of ‘belonging’ and unity through a growing spiritual awareness and appreciation.

Our vision ‘of enabling our whole school community to live life in all its fullness’ is at the heart of everything we do. It underpins our teaching and learning, and provides an environment which prepares our pupils as confident, happy citizens.

Weekly Worship Round Up

Please see our new ‘Weekly Worship Round Up.’

This has been created to give an overview of the themes that we explore in worship each week and to share some of the resources that you may wish to use in order to support further conversation at home.

Our weekly round-up aims to support families in the conversations that they are having at home with their children.

Each week, we will share the themes of each of the worships and any resources that we have been using such as videos, books and music, to allow families to access these if they wish.

Our weekly worship is structured in the following way:

Mondays: These worships are led by Miss Dryden and she will focus on our school vision and ‘enabling our whole school community to live life in all its fullness.’

Tuesdays: These worships are led by teachers on a rotation.

Wednesdays: These worships are led by Rev Caroline

Thursdays: Prayer and Praise is led by Mrs Philcox

Fridays: Good work /Celebration worship is led by the Miss Dryden. Children are rewarded for their efforts and good deeds.
